Stalwart reliability
by Eric A on Tuesday, December 08, 2020
I bought my Venza with the 3.5L V6 a couple of years ago to replace my aging Subaru Outback. I'm a wagon guy, but couldn't find one to my liking. I had driven a Venza several years prior and liked how it drove, so I went looking for one. This was a great daily driver. It's incredibly spacious, drives easily, has plenty of power, and has a comfortable interior. Mine was equipped with bluetooth, CD changer, leather/heated seats, and the bigger engine (268 HP). I never wanted for power. The ride was really soft and supple and the seats were comfortable--I've spent 8+ hours in this car twice with no complaints. My favorite things were the convenience features. The front has more nooks and crannies, ports, and power outlets than any car I've ever had. Mine also had nice touches like power liftgate and very thoughtful handles to lower the rear seats from the hatch (so you don't have to walk around and let the seats down with a handful of lumber). The cargo space was cavernous with seats down. On the downside, it's ugly. Really ugly. It also had a lot of body roll due to the soft suspension, weight, and taller ride height. Honestly, I prefer more car-like driving dynamics and AWD, which is why I moved on. Also, I averaged about 20 MPG combined. But, really, that's it. Preference. It's a great car that could go another 50-100k miles without any major repairs. If you want a used crossover and you don't need a third seat, I'd get one of these. In 2.5 years, I only spent $50 on a tire repair. Otherwise, just oil changes. The drivetrain was bulletproof with daily use. - 5.0
Great value for money

I bought our Venza limited used for $10,000 with 162000 miles on it. I used to drive a 2002 Ford Explorer Limited. I almost never used the third row seat. I liked it for the room, not for the gas mileage and multiple repairs wheel bearing, shocks etc. I bought this Venza because the reliability 8/10 as opposed to Subaru 6/10. It's roomy, easy to load from the back. The JBL stereo speakers really sound good, especially with satellite radio. I get between 22 and 24 mpg. The navigation and hands free radio work well. My wife likes the parking assist and back up camera with the guide lines for parking. I also like the Zennon adaptive headlamps witch turn on the high beam headlamp automatically when driving in dark roads and turn off when senses on coming vehicles. The V6 has the same engine as the Lexus RX350, highlander, Rav4 And Avalon. Very Reliable. Make sure to check when if and when water pump was changed as well as the spark plugs. There was an update on the water pump. It used to problem in the past according to the dealer. Check out the car care nut YouTube videos on best Toyota to buy. He doesn't mention the Venza but, he does talk about the V6 engine it has, the 2grfe engine. Scotty Kilmer did a video on the Venza. - 5.0

This car has gone up and down the east coast. Great in the snow. Great gas mileage on the highway. Turn the key and go. As long as you maintain the car it will be good to you. Once you join the Toyota family it is hard to look at anything else. I plan on keeping the car for a while because i Know these cars will do well over 250000 miles effortlessly. You will not be disappointed if you purchase this vehicle. I always look at reviews so I felt it was my duty to give an honest opinion as it helps me when I am looking to purchase cars.
